THIS IS ME. THIS IS SOA SE KOFFIE.

I started my coffee trailer nine years ago, made it through lockdown and truly believe I am here for a reason.
I roast coffee and create my own blends because I love what I do. I work six days a week because consistency is king!
I’m married, with two children, Keanon and Jane, aged 19 and 22. My family stand beside me through every crazy idea. I’m not “normal”, and I never want to be!

Three months ago, I lost my dearest oupa, my biggest inspiration. His dream was for me to work for myself. Going solo is my way of honouring his belief in me.
I wouldn’t be here without the wonderful Greyton locals who keep supporting SOA SE KOFFIE, or my mom — my biggest fan, who prays for my business and is always there when I need her.
Then there are my “extended boys”: young people who have become part of my life, whom I love and encourage to follow their dreams.

Every year, I offer barista training to young people in our community. Not everyone can go away and study, so a practical skill and a certificate for their CV can help open a door. This is my way of giving back.
I trained with David Donde and received my certificate in 2010, but I still learn something new every day.
I believe in hard work, respect, good first impressions and consistency. I will never stop trying, and I won’t give up on our young people either. I want them to succeed at something that makes them happy.
I don’t train the kids for myself. I train them for the world.
